Paradoxical Lucidity for End-Stage Dementia Focus Group Screening
Welcome! A group of researchers at NYU Langone Health are conducting a focus group to hear more about experiences you may have had caring for patients or family members with severe or advanced dementia.
Many people with advanced dementia lose their memory, as well as the ability to care for themselves or communicate with others. However, some people may suddenly regain mental clarity or become lucid, particularly toward end of life. This includes the ability to communicate clearly with others for a short time, walk, move around, or recognize family members.
The main purpose of this focus group is to learn more about witnessed episodes of lucidity in people suffering from this severe stage of dementia. If you believe you have witnessed an episode of sudden mental clarity and are interested in participating, please complete the short survey below.
