This survey was created by the Neurocritical Care Society Ethics Committee to better understand member experience and attitudes related to organ donation in the USA. All responses are anonymous. The NYU Langone Medical Center waived the need for consent fo this survey. The results of this survey will be used to produce a manuscript for presentation/publication.

 

The following abbreviations are used in this survey:

BD/DNC: brain death/death by neurologic criteria

DCD: donation after cardiac death/death by circulatory-respiratory criteria 

NRP: normothermic regional perfusion (restoration of either thoracoabdominal blood flow or abdominal blood flow after cardiac death/death by circulatory-respiratory criteria to optimize organ recovery; of note, thoracoabdominal NRP typically requires severing the carotids to proclude blood flow to the brain)

OPO: organ procurement organization
