Application Deadline:

All applications for July 2024 entry into the program are due by Friday, April 5, 2024, at 5PM EST. Pending availability, we will consider applications from candidates up until, but no later than May 3.

3. Research Statement
In no more than 750 words, describe the background, significance and sample specific aims of a research project that will be completed as part of the training. The MS Committee may request additional information.

4. Letters of Recommendation:

Letter 1
Letter must address your potential to become an independent investigator from your proposed research project mentor, who must be a full-time member of the faculty or research scientist at New York University. This letter must also confirm the author's willingness to serve as a mentor to you, and to meet the expectations of the program regarding holding joint periodic meetings with the MSCI faculty, and developing trainee milestones for abstracts, papers, etc.

Letter must be from another member of the medical school faculty, or from one of your undergraduate professors, commenting on your academic and/or clinical accomplishments.

Letter must be from the Dean indicating:

• His/her support of your application to, and participation in, the MSCI program.

• That you have the Medical School's permission to participate in research during a year away from medical school training, and that your schedule in the second (overlap) year of the program will include sufficient protected time for you to participate, full time, in research and education for a minimum of 12 weeks in no more than two separate blocks (ideally in a single block), as well as meet any other needed requirements of the program.

• If applicable, a statement regarding the School of Medicine's commitment to cover the cost of the tuition for the program. Students who do not obtain such a commitment will include a letter of agreement to pay the cost of tuition, in full, upon the start of the program.
